Here's what I would like to do:
First, invite you to read all about our home for the elderly, "ElParaiso", beginning on the next page: it is an actual translation of our brochure we use in Puerto Rico to acquaint people with our Project. It was translated by a good friend of my family, who for years has been coming to Puerto Rico from Boston, and now lives in our home town, Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
Once you know about our Project(s), maybe you can assist us getting around Tripod.com, meeting new neighbors, and just maybe, we will meet the right kind of folks to advise us about the following: we actually deal with many different types of businesses, but here at home in Tripod we want to keep this personal; maybe, as we get to know you better, you may be able to assist us if we peak your interest. We would like someday to have all our businesses on commercial pages on the Web, but right now, we don't know how! How's that for a bit of open honesty!
But, I want to periodically talk about our lives, my wife and four kids; how the struggles we have faced as a family contributed to our perseverance in the business world, the church world, the overseas missionary projects we are involved with, our Florida home, and much more. We hope to put our best pictures on very soon, so you will know us better, our workers, our homes, the best tropical Island in all the U.S. territories officially related to the United States, Puerto Rico.
We may even startle a few of you at some of the dynamic things we have seen Americans doing overseas in countries like Costa Rica, which is an independent country, whereas Puerto Rico is definitely U.S.A. in all its life style with the added joys of beaches, palm trees, cool breezes and a very U.S. prone people, (though some of our louder dissidents are always busy trying to re-establish their Spanish or independent roots).
AND I WANT TO TURN THE TIDE TOWARDS OLDER AMERICANS GETTING AWAY TO GREENER PASTURES HERE IN PUERTO RICO, WITHOUT BEING RIPPED OFF OR FOOLED: Puerto Rico is a great place to be and I want as many mainland citizens to know : YOU ARE WELCOME OVER HERE; this Island is just three hours away from any major city of the U.S. Mainland and shorter distances to other key places. Come back frequently, for what I hope will be a different side of the news about Puerto Rico, and our home for the elderly in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, located only 20 minutes from our main offices.

CONCEPT OF HOME "ELPARAISO" >>
It's a special way of taking care of the elderly and other persons with developmental deficiencies; likewise, any sickness that provokes particular reactions, including the following:
. Pain or discomfort . Fear and loneliness . Worries over relatives and friends . Anxiety about what the future holds
The "Home" tries to understand all the needs of the resident, be these physical, emotional, social & spiritual, along with the needs the family has.
The philosophy of "HOME ELPARAISO" is based on giving care to the residents in an atmosphere where the resident's sense of dignity is respected.
These services include :
- A coordinated care plan developed between the Personnel of Home "ELParaiso", the Chief Physician of the patient and his or her relatives, integrating the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the same; - We provide, via their health insurance, all medications and hospitalization required by the residents; - Nursing services provided for the care of the patient; - We also offer spiritual assistance governed by the religious beliefs of the patient; - Social Services to assist the patient and his or her relatives with their social and emotional problems are provided; - Regular Diet for each patient in keeping with his or her condition and special needs; - Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy provided when needed; - A Stable Medical Team relates to the conditions and needs of the patient; - Medical Supplies provided in keeping with needs related to his or her condition; - 24 Hour Ambulatory Care provided; - Other additional services provided when necessary for the improvement of the Quality of Life of the resident, such as television, radio, and passive games, manual arts, etc. - Home ElParaiso's Personnel are available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. ___________________________________________________________

The residents, families and friends are also an important part of our Work Team, for it is their needs that the Home tries to understand and fulfill.

Your assistance as a volunteer will cause these services to be within the reach of the persons that need them.
